The Zip Neck Sweater

Amanda Wakeley Zip Neck Sweater Autumn Style Edit

This Sunday was the perfect Autumn day – cool and crisp, but bright and sunny, with the leaves changing colour and falling from the trees. We planned to go out for a walk along the river before Sunday lunch with friends at the newly renovated E&O in Chelsea and this jumper just felt like the perfect thing to wear. A zip neck sweater seems like a bit of a retro outdoorsy style, but there’s something about it that just feels so cosy and very current. This version from Amanda Wakeley is knitted from the softest cashmere with a beautiful bounce to it which makes it super cosy for this time of year, and it would be perfect for a ski trip too. I also love the neck ties and the oversized ribbed shoulder details. It comes in cream, black, grey and midnight blue, but there are also lots of other versions around. This grey ribbed knit looks super cosy and I love the cable detail that runs through this sweater. I wore mine with washed black jeans and these patchwork boots but I also think it would look good worn more oversized and tucked into the waistband of a leather skirt – either a fitted midi or an A line mini. So, here’s my edit of the best versions.
