Couture just got glam… real glam. Ralph & Russo has been the rising star of Haute Couture week over the past few years and this season the design duo really excelled themselves. All the trappings of couture were there – the intricately beaded gowns, and dresses festooned with feather embellishment, but there were also sweet little skirt suits and diaphanous dresses that will see the light of day beyond the catwalk. With a palette of sorbet shades and metallic accents the show could have been sickly sweet but each look had just the right amount of modern wow factor. Tassels swung from nonchalantly off-the-shoulder straps of a crystal encrusted dress, and nipped in knee length silhouettes gave OTT dresses a modern edge.
The beauty look was just as glamorous as the clothes. Luminous skin, a bold red lip to offset the pastels, and seriously chic netted veils. I have to admit I’m getting inspiration for my upcoming nuptials…
And the standout look in this stunning collection? Well it just has to be that sheer crystal dress in a glamorous one shoulder silhouette. Come to think of it, I might have just found my ideal wedding party look…
