After a vast recent regeneration, St James’s has become one of my favourite areas to drink, dine and shop in London. Veneta is a great spot for pre-dinner drinks at the bar, Milo’s is utter heaven, and Aquavit has become a firm favourite for cosy long lunches, pre-party dinners and Scandi style breakfast meetings. Oh, and you have to check out the new Aspinal of London store. With a boudoir, a billiard’s room and a dramatic curved staircase, all decorated in opulent British style, I seriously want to move in… and if you haven’t been to the area before, this Christmas you have even more reason to visit.
St James’s Market is currently filled with Nordic trees and today marks the unveiling of an advent calendar like no other. The Pavilion has been transformed into an oversized calendar installation by the illustrator Daniel Clarke, and each morning throughout December a new door will be opened to reveal not only a new Christmas scene, but also a one of a kind gift curated by London Fashion Week Men. There’ll be goodies from local retailers, restaurants and art galleries, including Barbour, The Ritz, John Smedley, and of course my favourite: Aspinal of London. Check out the website here for more information and don’t forget to message me when you enter so I can have my fingers crossed for you!
