Last week I headed back to beautiful Paris for a project with the quintessentially chic French lingerie brand, Maison Lejaby. It was a whistle-stop trip: an early Eurostar across to Paris, lunch at La Cevicheria, and a lingerie fitting at the brand’s new store, before heading to the launch party of the Nufit collection that evening.
I wanted to be comfortable, but smart, for a busy day in the city and I’ve always loved the idea of an easy-to-wear travel suit, so this ever-so-slightly oversized, check version was perfect. It didn’t crease, even after a 2 hour train journey, and I loved it paired with a simple white t-shirt, flat patent ankle boots, and my trusty fur jacket. It’s the perfect start to a capsule travel wardrobe – wear it as a suit with trainers in the day, pair the jacket with jeans, a skinny knit and ankle boots for the weekend, or wear it buttoned up with mega heels and layered necklaces in place of a top for a sleek evening look. The bag is my new Dockery and it’s already a firm favourite. You’ll definitely have seen my taupe Dockery – it was my constant companion all summer long as it goes with everything and it’s big enough to hold my camera whilst still looking pretty chic, so I was thrilled to find the black croc version, with my favourite gold hardware, as the perfect addition to my winter wardrobe.
We took these snaps whilst waiting for the taxi back to our hotel after my fitting on rue des Saints-Pères, a beautiful street in the heart of Saint Germain des Prés where you’ll find Prada and Saint Laurent next to quirky interior design stores and independent boutiques – well worth a visit!
