Paris is one of my favourite cities in the world. It’s stunningly beautiful and filled with the most fabulous restaurants, inspiring museums and romantic strolls. On this trip we flew with Air France from Heathrow on Friday evening and after a gin and tonic we were landing at Charles de Gaulle. A quick taxi ride across the city and we pulled up at our home for the weekend. When it comes to hotels I have a couple of old favourites, but with an ever changing list of gorgeous boutique hotels on our radar it’s always nice to try somewhere new. On this trip we were just there for the weekend so location was key and Hotel Opera Richepanse is absolutely perfectly located – literally just off rue Saint-Honoré, next to La Madeleine (and right by the Valentino store) it’s a short stroll to pretty much anything and everything we wanted to do and see! We headed up to our gorgeous (and spacious!) room for a quick change and were greeted with macarons and champagne – the sweetest gesture – before heading out for a late dinner. Housed in the former Jean Paul Gaultier shop, Daroco is the perfect spot, whether you’re in Paris for a romantic weekend away or a girls night out. The food is simply delicious – think charcuterie, the BEST truffle pizza, and the queen of desserts: a good dollop of chocolate mousse – and the cocktails are even better! We loved it so much they could barely get rid of us and we stayed late into the night. We woke up early the next morning and flung open the doors with excitement to see our gorgeous little balcony. It couldn’t have felt more perfectly Parisian! We headed downstairs for breakfast and then set off to the Fondation Louis Vuitton to check out some art work, and some spectacular views over the city before heading back to our stomping ground for lunch at Hotel Costes. After a stroll around the Jardin des Tuileries we retreated to the hotel where I made the most of our bathtub, before heading out to the newly renovated Ritz for drinks before dinner. I can’t recommend the Ritz Bar enough – hidden away at the back of the hotel, this dimly lit, atmospheric bar is the perfect spot for a margarita. Great music, and the best bartenders meant we stayed long after our planned dinner reservation time, but the concierge soon hooked us up with one of the best tables in town. The next day was a slightly slower pace and we stopped by a local cafe before heading to Monsieur Bleu for a perfect Sunday lunch. A quick stroll through Place Vendome and we had to bid a sad farewell to our home for the weekend to head back to the airport to fly home after another heavenly weekend in Paris.
Find our wonderful hotel here. I must admit that we were offered a complimentary stay however I would happily pay the full rate to stay here again. The location was just amazing and with gorgeous spacious rooms (a real treat in Paris) I can’t recommend it enough!
Air France kindly provided my flights and offer a fantastic service, flying daily from London to Paris. They’re currently offering the opportunity to fly on a Boeing Dreamliner from London to Paris, allowing you to discover their newest long haul service on a short haul flight with prices from as little as £78 return – I think it might be time to go back!
