Memo:
I love picking up ideas for blog posts on my travels, and having packed my bags for Barbados with piles of bright white, sequin embellished pieces, I remembered a gorgeous Vogue editorial of layered beachy imagery. We were staying on the west coast of Barbados, so camera in hand, we headed off for a day on the other side of the island… rugged landscapes, crashing waves and some of the most stunning scenery. We stopped by Cutters Deli and picked up a picnic of kingfish cutters (Bajan sandwiches) and macaroni pie, all drenched in homemade hot sauce, with a generous side of rum punch, before heading to Foul Bay. A long wide curved bay shaded by palms and casuarina trees – quite incongruously named, this beach is a stunner. After lunch and a couple of snaps of this beautiful barginous dress, we headed off in search of Harrismith Beach. I’d heard about the ruins of a beautiful old mansion house, with steep steps that led to a sheltered beach below, and what we found was truly stunning. Beautiful ruins, with a magnificent view out over the Atlantic, and treacherous steps leading to a shallow lagoon protected by the reef. I slipped into a little Tatjana Anika beachwear and got to work… No matter how many times I visit Barbados I love that I still manage to find something new and just as spectacular.
