Memo:
Sweden has some of the most amazing landscape and scenery I’ve ever seen, and this summer we made sure we made time for a stay at Carl’s summer house in the beautiful village of Fiskebäckskil. I arrived into Gothenburg late at night and my knight in shining armour greeted me, with roses and super sour Swedish sweeties, to whisk me up the west coast to the island. The next morning, we woke up early, packed a picnic and headed out on the boat to the nearby island of Stora Kornö. We moored up in the tiny harbour and made our way past fisherman’s cottages and fields of sheep to a small bay surrounded by rolling rocks where we set up our little picnic of sandwiches, Swedish strawberries and homemade cinnamon buns. With the sun high in the sky, the wind dropped and it became surprisingly mild. We lay out on the rocks, clambered our way down to the shoreline, and I studied the surrounding rock pools feeling like the resident mermaid in this gorgeous Ariel bikini from dreamy swimwear brand, South Beach. We spent the most glorious afternoon in the Swedish sunshine before returning home just in time for sunset in the silhouette of the windmill.
