Memo:
At the weekend we wrapped up and headed off to The Berkeley to meet Mummy and Daddy for dinner at the new restaurant by Marcus Wareing. The dimly lit dark wood room is lifted with striking contemporary artworks. The menu simply lists the key ingredients in a dish and “Rabbit, beetroot, watercress” was the most delicious starter. The Lake District lamb was beautifully tender, so tasty, and all the more impressive for having travelled from back home in the Lake District down to London. The desserts though, were a game changer. “Warm chocolate, crunch, salted caramel” went down very well, but my choice of “Toffee, peanut, milk chocolate nougat” was sublime.
