Memo:
Those of you who follow me on Instagram will already know that I think a trip to Paris is always a good idea. Fun, beautiful, romantic, cultural…it has everything you could possibly want in a city. I’ve spent a lot of time in Paris over the years. Fun long weekends away navigating the narrow back streets, stopping for croque-monsieur and crepes… Fashion Week fuelled work trips running on adrenaline, champagne and Louboutins… I love the place! This weekend I was swept away to the City of Lights. Here’s my perfect weekend in photos:
1. Take the Eurostar from London – it’s quick, easy and you get a great view of the French countryside
2 – 4. Totally spoilt, we stayed at the stunning Le Meurice – the Dali-inspired, Philippe Starck designed hotel is in my perfect location, with a delicious cocktail bar and the most helpful concierge who will grant your every wish
5. Head to Monsieur Bleu at Palais de Tokyo for dinner – this low-lit, beautiful restaurant has great music, delicious cocktails and a window table ensures a date with Monsieur Eiffel Tower
6 – 8. Visit the Cartier exhibition at Grand Palais – stunning jewels and set lighting that I fell in love with
9 – 12. Take a stroll to the Seine – take in the sights, the beautiful bridges and of course, the Eiffel Tower
13 – 14. Head to Hotel Costes for lunch, dinner or even just a drink – this sultry hotel is always on my list… A glass of champagne on the terrace with the most divine foie gras makes for the perfect Parisian lunch, the bar is full of hidden corners for a secret rendezvous and their music compilations are legendary (the fabulous Stephane Pompougnac was a waiter at Café Costes before being asked to mix for the hotel)
15 – 18. After a long, lazy lunch, take a stroll through the Jardin des Tuileries, stopping by one of the fountains to see the cutest colourful boats, until you reach the Seine
19. Leave your heart in Paris – romance isn’t dead on the Passerelle Léopold-Sédar-Senghor
20 – 21. Party in Paris at newest hotspot Titty Twister – neon signs cover the walls of this decadent underground club where a gorgeous crowd hangs out whilst the crazy barmen set light to the super long bar
22 – 25. The morning after the night before, head to Café Marly for my favourite croque-monsieur and freshly squeezed orange juice, set in the cloisters of the Louvre overlooking the IM Pei designed pyramid
26 – 27. Wander around the Musée du Louvre marvelling in the vast size of the place – it gets me every time – before planning your next trip…
