Alila, Sandy Lane, Barbados
In Barbados, New Year’s Eve is Old Year’s Night. We invited a group of friends over to the villa for a carnival party with masks, feather fans, boas and blowers. We started the evening with champagne out on the terrace before making our way inside for a delicious dinner of tuna tataki, marinated fillet steak and a naughty chocolate and dulce de leche torte. With dinner finished, the year was nearly over. The countdown started and we blew on party blowers, kissed each other happy new year and topped ourselves up with shots of cafe Patron, before heading up to the balcony to watch the fireworks flying out over the west coast of Barbados to start another exciting year ahead.
