Last weekend we stepped out on a beautiful sunny Sunday and headed over to The Colony for brunch. The restaurant is part of The Beaumont - the new hotel by Jeremy King and Chris Corbin (of The Wolseley and Colbert fame), and it certainly lived up to the hype. The hotel is dreamy and harks back to a super chic golden age. The low-lit restaurant is Art Deco in style and has a menu filled with American classics, perfect for a cosy autumn brunch. Whilst Russell plied us with champagne as a belated anniversary present, we tucked into oysters and prawn cocktails before devouring some seriously delicious main courses - a perfectly cooked burger, a homely chicken pot pie, and the naughtiest grilled cheese sandwich. A baked Alaska and a couple of signature bespoke sundaes finished us off pretty nicely and it was soon time for a wander through Mayfair after quite a feast.
